This past year's state officer team has done an amazing job. It would be a disservice to Arizona DECA to take away thier initiatives. If we keep and refine those initiatives, while adding the new officers' initiatives on top of those, it will make for a better Arizona DECA for everyone.Â
Talking Tip Tuesday: Post every Tuesday on @arizonadeca, while also having members submit thier own talking tips to be featured in the videos.
Pay it forward campaign: Advocate to the next VP of Community Service and work alongside them to continue the campaign. How it works is that Arizona DECA nominates a chapter to do a community service project in two weeks and post it, then that school nominates another chapter to do it, and so on.
Keep Social media looking the same, while refining it: Bring in past VPs of Marketing to teach the new VP of Marketing how to post, design, etc.
This year, when I became president of my chapter, I was looking for resources online, and I noticed that Arizona DECA didn't have many resources for incoming new officers. I had no clue how to lead, how to delegate, or how to run a chapter well. I learned a lot throughout the first few months, and now my chapter is doing great, but I want to help those people in the same situation I was in last year jumpstart their chapters and have all the resources they need with my chapter officer guide. Also, the best times I've learned are while talking to other chapter presidents, which is why I want to host monthly president calls for chapters to learn from each other and connect.
Chapter officer guide: If elected, I will write a comprehensive officer guide with every resource needed for a chapter to be successful over the summer, and it will be ready for the upcoming school year. The resources will include things like guides on how to run engaging meetings, how to delegate, how to organize your systems, how to deal with conflicts, and so much more. It will be on azdeca.org under the Advisors section, and the Resources/links tab.
Monthly Presidents' Calls: I will host monthly Zoom calls and send out the link either by email or by by Intsagram post on @arizonadeca. In these calls, I will give tips, but also allow the chapter presidents to bounce ideas off each other and network with each other.
State Officers' entire jobs are to serve the members. By putting members more front and center on the website and socials, it better serves the members and shifts some of the attention from the State Officers to the members that they serve.
Involve members more in the website and on socials: Put a picture of the members on the front page of the website. Have members submit videos to be featured on the social media ie. Talking Tip Tuesday. This shows how we are here to serve the members and it highlights them.
Member Voice Dropbox: Have a Jotform on azdeca.org, most likely in the Student section, under the nominations tab. This would be a way for members to easily express any concerns straight to Arizona DECA.
Highlight of the Month: Have a Jotform on azdeca.org, also in the Student section, under the nominations tab. This would be similar to the member of the month and chapter of the month, where we would have monthly posts on Instagram reminding students about the nomination and posting the winner. This aims to highlight students experinces in DECA.
